Early in September we were contacted by Luke of ArtHub the art studio group. They have been operating fairly priced artist studio spaces in Deptford and Woolwich for 25 years. The Creekside studio building they lease has recently been sold and is due for redevelopment as flats etc. ArtHub have got ahead of the game and negotiated a 5 year tenancy with Lewisham Council for 100 studios + at the Mornington Centre .
SPC have been reanimating the legacy ethernet infrastructure to redistribute broadband via the RJ45 wall ports and sprinkling of wireless access for all those due to take up space in the coming weeks and months. With well over 500 people on the waiting list and the old studios closing it won’t long before it’s a swinging and well loved community centre worthy of your attention.
Right now it’s getting a lick of paint and roof repairs to improve on the state of it in these pics but am kinda fond of it’s state of dilapidation. We already installed high speed switches, CCTV and await Hyperoptic GB broadband installation to complete the process. Once done there will be eighteen wireless access points and five CCTV cameras pulling on the broadband before the hoards arrive.
