At least a couple of angels monitor the SPC resources on behalf of the many whom host media, meddle with code and drink tea.
In spring of 2020 we began working form the virus shelter in Deptford. It’s from here we continue to co-ordinate the community networking and subscriber project support.
We have extended monitoring of key infrastructure at DHC, Spacestudios and Arthouse with UISP service hosted by our long standing supporter and friend Ellis Melman at City Lifeline.
The Community art space at Coopepys has bloomed over the last year with weekly artclub evenings on Monday, Wednesday and daily use by a dedicated group of local artists. The internet access provided by SPC has helped improve communication and awareness.
We continue working with SpaceStudios to install fresh network access at Redbridge Town Hall for 3 floors of new studios. This adds to the existing access @ Triangle, Martello, Victor House, Eastway Laundry and Brickfield Studio which remain open.
Deptford Housing Coop network serves well over 100 coop members. SPC installed the structured wiring interlinking 15 houses and the communal event space/office in 2003. In March 2020 a new GB fibre service was installed to usurp the overloaded ADSLx to serve dhc01 to 08 and h09 to h15 with superfast broadband.
MayDayRooms has a building-wide wireless [2|3|4|5] network which hosts document scanners, media editing and archive catalogue. Installation of high speed FTTP broadband in FleetStreet now makes it a dream for those relying on media services.
