Longplayer is a one thousand year long musical composition, which began playing at midnight on the 31st of December 1999, and will continue to play without repetition until the last moment of 2999, at which point it will complete its cycle and play again!
It was Conceived and composed by Jem Finer with the live stream hosted by SPC at Icecast.spc.org
We first met Jem in 2000 when he was looking for a live stream host to work with going forward, He is one of our longest surviving subscribers! Since then Longplayer has established a trust to sustain and promote it’s continuity. Each new year cycle is celebrated on Jan 1st at the Edison lighthouse of Trinity Bouy Wharf on the Thames in London’s East End.
