SPC have maintained access at two physical working spaces in Borough Hall, Greenwich for 17 years! Sadly these spaces will close at end of April 2018 but alternative places will open in May to continue offering flexible access and the range of shared resources that our subscribers can arrange use of as needed. We thank our host, Greenwich Dance for all their support throughout the years, and wish them well for the future.
Bitspace is the public access space where we have hosted weekly Wireless Wednesday Workshops a tradition started in 2006 in support of OWN the open wireless network centered on Deptford. These workshops have already moved to PCL (Pepys Community Library) on Deptford Foreshore.
Exploding Cinema store their aging projection equipment and props in the Bit store and hold production meetings in the workroom. They now also need a swift replacement storage solution, so if you can suggest some options contact them asap.
Deckspace was the subscriber space in the old projection suite on the very top of the Borough Hall with four rooms for desktop working, screening/meetings, video edit and sound studio. As of 12.01.2018 access ceased pending RBG council safety review which are unlikely to ever see!
We will continue to maintain and monitor web, email and network servers for subscriber use. Many thanks again to RedRaw Internet for providing top quality broadband connection, web hosting and technical support for networks in SE8 and SE10.. cheers!
